Red Roses For A Blue Lady, by Wayne Newton, is a 1965 studio album by American singer Wayne Newton, released on Capitol Records, showcasing his smooth baritone voice in a collection of sentimental pop and easy-listening ballads. The 11-track record features covers of romantic standards, including upbeat numbers like I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover and heartfelt tunes such as Laughing on the Outside (Crying on the Inside), highlighting Newton's transition from teen idol to versatile entertainer. Historically significant as one of Newton's early charting albums during his rise to fame in Las Vegas, it capitalized on the mid-1960s revival of 1940s pop songs amid the British Invasion. The title track, a cover of the 1948 hit originally popularized by Vaughn Monroe, became a standout revival in 1965 with three versions charting simultaneously by Newton, Vic Dana, and Bert Kaempfert. The hit single Red Roses for a Blue Lady peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Easy Listening chart, solidifying Newton's appeal in adult contemporary music and remaining a staple in his live performances.
