Details
This solid bronze (or brass with bronze finish) bookend/paperweight features the classic pharmaceutical symbol (a stylized mortar & pestle or Rx emblem with ornate detailing) and the Latin phrase “SECUNDUM ARTEM” (meaning “according to the art” – a traditional motto in pharmacy) prominently displayed. The base is marked “TINACTIN®” (the antifungal brand by Schering, now Merck), indicating it was a promotional item for pharmacists/apothecaries from the late 1970s–early 1980s era. Measures approximately 3-3/8” wide x 4-3/4” high; good condition with nice patina, no chips/cracks/breaks—just light age-related wear consistent with display use. A cool collectible for pharmacy memorabilia, vintage medical decor, or mid-century advertising enthusiasts! From a smoke-free home; ships securely packaged.
