Vintage Tall Cat Salt and Pepper Shakers | Jumbo Funky Flower Power Cat Shaker Set | Mid Century Style Long Necked Cats | 1970s Holt Howard Made in Japan

This is a vintage salt and pepper shaker set, shaped like a pair of funky felines! Made in Japan during the 1970s for Holt Howard, this set of shakers was created on a grand scale, rivaling many of those popular mid century tall cat figurines in size. Both cats are identical, posed sitting with their paws together, and their long tails snaking up their backs. Their elongated necks are adorned with dapper bow ties, frills, and some very flower power style blooms. Their tails have been given a large bow, also decorated with showy flowers. The cats have been washed in a warm brown, to highlight all of their molded details, and have been finished with a retro earth tone green glaze. Everything about their design is strikingly 1970s! Condition: These shakers are in Very Good shape! There are no serious chips, cracks, stains, but here is a single glaze deep chip on the ear of one cat. The same cat also has a manufacturing flaw on his knee, where the glaze wasn't properly applied. Both the flaw and the chip are quite minor, and not noticeable at any distance. Size: These are enormous for salt and pepper shakers! Each cat measures about 4" across, 3 ½" wide, and stands a grand 9 ½" tall.
