Details
We have an absolutely incredible piece of history here with this classic late art deco 1940s piece made by sought-after designer Ostby & Barton. The center stone is a large canary yellow sapphire and the piece is comprised of solid 10k yellow gold, weighing in at 2.58 grams. The gemstone has been verified via Presidium tester.
Engelhart Ostby was the famed Norwegian jewelry designer of the Victorian & Edwardian eras who went down with the Titanic. The story goes he missed his lifeboat because he was trying to save his jewelry box. His company continued producing jewelry until the 50s, but they'll forever be known for their ties to the Titanic.
This ring is in very good condition, please see pictures for details and measurements. Does not include my ring box.
Thanks for looking!

Welcome, I'm Megan and I've been curating one-of-a-kind treasures for my store for 21 years now! My husband Matt and I love sourcing incredible pieces of history together; I manage the photography & storefront, while he carefully packages up all of your items and sends them off with love. I have a background in jewelry design with a major passion for vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelry - I wear vintage myself, almost every day! Even our two little ones enjoy getting involved (especially with sparkly jewels). Thank you so much for supporting our family, and we hope your purchases bring you a bit of nostalgic joy. Check us out on other major platforms as "Sensu Lato Vintage!"
