Vintage Italian Marble Owl Sculpture By M Pelletti Who Repaired Michaelangelo’s Pieta In The Vatican When I found this I thought it was by the younger artist Massimiliano Pelletti so I got confirmation that it was his grandfather Mario Pelletti’s work. Most of Mario’s work are beautiful marble large statues in churches and throughout Italy. Mario lived from 1907-1997 and was one of 10 sculptors chosen to repair The Pietà by Michaelangelo in the Vatican when it was broken in 1970’s. Truly a piece of Fine Art by a Master Craftsman.
