This beautiful Italian covered bowl features a hand-painted majolica design with a fruit pattern in vibrant, multicolor hues. There is an applied pear with two leaves that function as the handle for the lid. Both pieces are made of red clay and have a glazed finish. The set measures 7 inches in width and 3.6 inches in height, with the three-hole vented cover allowing for air exchange. The bowl is signed with Italy and labeled FC 105; it is an original piece from the late 20th century. The bowl is perfect for use as a decorative piece or for serving soups, fruits, or other items that benefit from air circulation. The bowl weighs 1 pound and 3 ounces and is handmade, making it a unique and one-of-a-kind item.
The covered bowl is in very good condition. There are two small chips, one of the edge of the lid and one of the edge of the bowl. (Please see close up pictures.) There are chips on the underside of the darker green leaf, but you do not see them unless the lid is upside down.
