Details
This is an original "My Wonderful Year" One Year Diary designed by the iconic teen-culture illustrator Betty Betz. Manufactured by The S.K. Smith Company of Chicago, this diary captures the quintessential 1950s aesthetic with its whimsical illustrations and vibrant colors.
Copyright/Year: The interior is marked "1957" by the original owner.
Features: * Original brass-tone metal lock. NO KEY
Yellow ribbon page marker.
Full-color padded vinyl cover with "teen" illustrations.
Illustrated interior pages including "Stone and Flower of the Month" charts.
Provenance: This diary belonged to a "Judy Johnson" and contains a few wonderful, heartfelt entries from 1957 (see photos for a sample of the charming "December 11" entry about a boy named Scott!). There is also a secondary name, "Gaby Flacke 1984," on the title page.
Condition Exterior: The cover remains bright and clean with very minimal shelf wear. The spine is tight and the padded cover is still soft.
Interior: Most pages appear to be unused/blank, making this a great candidate for continued use or display. There is some light age-toning to the paper edges as expected with a 70-year-old item. No significant tears or stains noted.
