Pair of silverplated pewter Peacock table ornaments. I just saw these on the queens table in the show the The Crown!.
The mark on the bottom, the CS Co (written "CcoS") is believed to be one of the marks belonging to the Colonial Silver Company, Inc, of Portland, Maine, active under that name from 1899 - 1944.
Realistically modeled in the form of Peacock with textured feathers, with removable heads. And red stone eyes.
Made of silverplated pewter -or possibly Britannia metal, which is an alloy related to pewter but less soft, and date to the first quarter of the 20th century. During Edwardian times these were very much in vogue as table ornaments and pheasants and peacocks seemed to be the most popular of all, judging by their dominance in numbers compared to other birds, and produced by quite a few makers, particularly Weidlich Silver and FB Rogers who seemed to specialize in them.
H: 4” L: 14”
What beautiful display pieces.
One Peacock is missing a feather on its head I just thought it was male and female at first.

Selling since March 2024
About a decade ago, my thrifting journey kicked off when my aunt passed away, leaving behind her house and all its contents to us. Tasked with selling off the items the family didn't want to keep, I found myself diving headfirst into the world of discovering new and intriguing things. I was truly astounded by the variety of items that people were interested in buying from us!
Now, my husband and I have turned this passion into a shared hobby, traveling far and wide to attend auctions, sift through thrift stores, explore estate sales, and scour garage sales. Each item we come across becomes an opportunity for me to delve into research and learn something new. For us, it's not just about making a sale, but about the joy of acquiring knowledge.
Interacting with customers is a highlight of our thrifting adventure. We take great care in packaging each item, sending it off with well wishes for a safe journey to its new home. Our hope is that whoever receives our packages will come to love the items as much as we do.
