Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
I Got It Goin' On (12" Single), by Tone-Loc, serves as an early showcase of the rapper's raw, street-smart style through its remix-heavy presentation of the title track, including a go-go instrumental version that highlights the era's fusion of hip-hop and dance rhythms. The B-side introduces The Homies in both album and "On Tilt Mix" forms, delivering funky, party-ready vibes that became fan favorites among early supporters of West Coast rap. A standout unique fact is the inclusion of The Fine Line Between Hyper And Stupid, a vocoder-laden electro jam paying tribute to old-school pioneers like Pretty Tony and Egyptian Lover, with production credits revealing involvement from New York's electro legends Hashim and The Fantastic Aleems—adding a layer of historical depth to Tone-Loc's otherwise straightforward sound. Historically significant as one of the first releases from the artist who would soon pioneer the "lowrider" rap subgenre, this single captures the transitional energy of late-80s hip-hop experimentation. Its lead track I Got It Goin' On emerged as a hit single, peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart.
