Details
Titan is carved from an ancient olive trunk estimated to be 800–1,000 years old, sourced from the coastal hills of Peschici in southern Italy. The scale and density of the material place it among the most monumental works in the Arte LUMIS collection, carrying visible evidence of centuries of growth, weathering, and survival.
Wind-carved exterior ridges, age-darkened grain, and naturally formed internal chambers define the form. Rather than concealing these features, the sculpture preserves and frames them, allowing the material’s history to remain structurally and visually dominant. When illuminated, light descends through the olive’s interior voids, activating layers of dense heartwood and revealing a deep, golden warmth characteristic of mature olive.
Anchored by a precision-engineered stainless-steel base, Titan reads as architectural in scale and presence—rooted, vertical, and resolute. It stands as both object and monument, defined by mass, age, and the controlled integration of light.
Each Arte LUMIS piece is one-of-a-kind.

Arte LUMIS is a Texas-based light art studio creating one-of-a-kind sculptural lighting from solid, sustainably sourced wood.
Each piece begins as a single log or cross-section—often reclaimed locally—and is transformed through a slow, hands-on process of carving, burning, and refinement. Light is then integrated into the form, revealing hidden structures, depth, and movement within the wood itself.
The result is not a lamp, but a functional sculpture—designed to anchor a space, shift atmosphere, and create presence.
No two pieces are ever alike. Each work carries the natural history of the material, including its origin, often documented down to GPS coordinates.
Arte LUMIS works with designers, architects, and private collectors seeking statement pieces that live at the intersection of art, design, and light.
