Details
Vinyl plays with some crackles and a few light-clicks (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing (front/back). Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along bottom-edge, slightly heavier across top, right corner partially split. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
The Sounds of Christmas, by Three Suns, released in 1955 on RCA Victor, features the instrumental trio’s signature blend of guitar, accordion, and electronic organ, performing holiday classics like Adeste Fideles, The First Noel, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, O Holy Night, The Monastery Bells, Greensleeves, Winter Wonderland, Deck the Halls, and White Christmas. Building on their earlier hits like Twilight Time and Peg O’ My Heart, the album delivers accessible, lush arrangements for mid-20th-century audiences. Historically significant, The Sounds of Christmas was among the early long-playing Christmas albums by a major pop act, capitalizing on the post-World War II boom in holiday music and the rise of the LP format. Its innovative arrangements influenced exotica and space-age pop genres, contributing to the era’s seasonal music trends. No tracks from the album became notable hit singles, but its cohesive festive sound solidified The Three Suns’ place in holiday music history.
