Details
Vinyl plays with some crackles and a few light-clicks (play-graded). Gate-fold cover looks okay; moderate scuffing, creasing, discoloration with darker spots, surface abrasion and surface impressions (front/back); back has some water damage. Significant surface abrasion on inner-gate. Inner-sleeve is original (lyrics/credits); two seams partially split and some discoloration. Spine is mostly readable with wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom/right-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of use and divots; a few tears along back edge. Slight musty smell. (Not a cut-out.)
Like the band's previous album, The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight also achieved triple-platinum certification, thanks to the hit singles Sing for the Day, Blue Collar Man and Renegade. The theme of the album, as Dennis DeYoung explained on In the Studio with Redbeard which devoted an entire episode to Pieces of Eight, was about "not giving up your dreams just for the pursuit of money and material possessions".
