Details
Vinyl plays nicely; a few light hairlines (play-graded). Gate-fold cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing, tiny surface abrasions, and surface impressions (front/back/inner-gate). Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. Columbia House pressing. (Not a cut-out.)
The Joker, by Steve Miller Band, is a landmark rock record that blends blues, psychedelic, and pop influences, showcasing the band’s signature laid-back yet catchy sound. Historically significant for its commercial success, it marked a turning point for the band, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and cementing their mainstream appeal. The album’s title track, The Joker, became a cultural phenomenon, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974 and later re-entering the charts in 1990 due to its use in a Levi’s commercial. Other notable singles include Your Cash Ain’t Nothin’ but Trash and Shu Ba Da Du Ma Ma Ma Ma, though they didn’t achieve the same widespread success. The album’s enduring popularity is attributed to its relatable lyrics, memorable melodies, and Steve Miller’s distinctive guitar work.
