Details
Vinyl plays with crackles and some clicks (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing (front/back); discoloration on front. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with wear. Minor shelf-wear along top-edge, heavier across bottom-edge and corners. Bottom-edge partially split from corner. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Pal Joey, by Stanley Applewaite, is an orchestral studio recording featuring instrumental interpretations of songs from the classic Rodgers and Hart musical Pal Joey. Conducted by Applewaite with his orchestra, this version stands out as a budget-label release typical of the era, offering straightforward arrangements without vocals in an easy-listening style. A unique aspect is its timing around the popularity of the musical's film adaptation, providing an accessible orchestral tribute to the score. Fan-favorite tracks include I Could Write a Book, and The Lady Is a Tramp, which highlight the enduring appeal of the original compositions. Historically, it reflects the mid-century trend of covering Broadway shows in instrumental formats for home listening.
