Paul Sawyier (1865 - 1917) was an American artist renowned for his evocative depictions of Kentucky landscapes, particularly scenes of Frankfort and the Kentucky River. His work often captured the changing seasons and the unique character of the region, rendered in watercolor with a delicate and atmospheric touch. This particular piece likely depicts the Old State Capitol building in Frankfort, KY. The print, possibly a lithograph or high quality reproduction of an original watercolor circa 1900-1915.
Dimensions are: 9.5" wide x 7.5" tall. This piece is in very good, used condition. There are some small chips on the bottom half of the frame - shown in the last photo. This print was given to me as a gift in 1980.

Selling since December 2025
I have been an avid thrifter and collector for decades. I can spend hours scouring flea markets, thrift shops, Goodwill and estate sales and do just that on most weekends. My home is an eclectic mix of my many finds and probably decorated with 80% previously loved furniture, art and decorations. MCM holds a special place in my heart - there's just something about the clean lines of the furniture and the whimsy of the decorative pieces that brings me so much happiness. This is my first foray into online selling, but I'm very excited to share the treasures I find and to be included in this community.
