Details
Vinyl plays nicely; a few light hairlines (play-graded). Cover has light-scuffing and surface impressions (front/back); back has slight discoloration with darker spots. Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is easy-to-read with mild wear. Minor shelf-wear along bottom-edge; top edge has significant wear and developing splits. Some wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut-out.)
Sing For Children, by Simon Sisters, consists of musical adaptations of classic children's poetry, including works by Robert Louis Stevenson and Edward Lear, with Lucy Simon composing the melodies and arrangements by Sam Brown enhancing the folk-pop sound. Reissued in 1973 to capitalize on Carly Simon's rising solo career, the album was remixed with additional percussion and guitars for a more contemporary 1970s feel. Historically significant for its connection to the Simon family's musical legacy and Columbia's renewed focus on children's records during the Sesame Street era, it showcases the sisters' early vocal harmony and Lucy's compositional talent before her Broadway success with The Secret Garden. The album did not produce any hit singles, unlike their earlier minor hit Winkin', Blinkin' and Nod from their debut album, but remains a cherished collection for its nostalgic and literary value.
