Details
Vinyl plays with occasional crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; scuffing and discoloration (front/back); noticeable discoloration on back near bottom left and a few surface impressions. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is mostly easy-to-read with mild-wear. Some shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Who Me? I'm Not Him by Richard Pryor, is a stand-up comedy album that provides a fascinating glimpse into his earlier, raw style, blending honest and angry observations on race, society, and personal experiences with wicked humor that still echoes some crossover appeal similar to Bill Cosby while retaining his provocative edge. The record features short, biting routines such as I'm A Ne*ro, Ne*ro Judge, Chain Gang, Hippy Dippys, Blue Eyed Devil, and others tackling social, political, racial, and religious themes head-on. A unique aspect is its origin from older material recorded for the independent Laff label, which Pryor largely disowned later as he achieved greater fame and artistic control through major-label releases with more refined, groundbreaking performances. Historically, it represents a transitional phase in his career, showcasing the unpolished yet impactful comedy that built toward his iconic status in stand-up. Fan-favorites among collectors include tracks like You're A Trick, Slippin' In Poo Poo, and Super N****r for their candid and edgy takes on identity and absurdity.
