Details

This Bastogne walnut slab came from a lone tree in Oregon—decades of rain and winter sun wove dense ribbons and dark fire into its heartwood. When it was milled, one slab stood out: figured grain running wild like storm clouds over the Cascades. It was reserved for this collection.

Black Walnut Studio creates heirloom furniture and home décor that honors the natural beauty of rescued wood—and gives fallen trees a second life worth remembering. Rooted in Wisconsin with over 20 years of woodworking experience, I transform salvaged hardwoods and storm-fallen slabs into pieces designed to outlive their owners. I specialize in hardwoods, but I choose materials based on what the piece demands and what your vision calls for—whether that’s reclaimed lumber, storm-fallen trees, or slabs with character that can’t be replicated. I believe every slab has a story already written in its grain—my job is simply to reveal it. From live edge tables and resin-framed designs to solid wood furniture built for generations, each piece is handcrafted in my shop with uncompromising attention to detail. I don’t rush the process, and I don’t take shortcuts. Everything I make is custom. Whether you’re commissioning a dining table, a conference centerpiece, or a coffee table that anchors a room, your vision—down to the grain pattern, edge profile, and base geometry—guides every decision. I approach each build as if it were going into my own home. This is furniture as legacy. Quiet luxury. Built without compromise.
