For sale is a vintage set of eight soup spoons in the Regal pattern by Dirilyte. These pieces date to the 1940s or 1950s, a period when the Dirilyte Company (Kokomo, Indiana) was at the height of its production. Unlike gold-plated flatware, these are made of a solid bronze alloy developed in 1914 (originally under the name "Dirigold"). Because it is a solid metal rather than a surface plating, the golden color is consistent throughout the entire piece and will not wear away over time. The Regal pattern is characterized by its simple, unadorned handles, making it a versatile choice for both modern and traditional table settings.
I personally love this product because of its substantial weight and warmth. These spoons have a distinct heft that modern stainless steel often lacks, which gives them a high-quality feel during use. The deep golden tone provides a unique alternative to silver and adds a nice level of visual interest to a place setting. This set has been well-maintained and remains in good vintage condition, ready to be used or added to a collection.
This is my holiday flatware of choice. Elegant, quality, and polishes to a mirror shine!
