About The Record:

The Muppet Show 2, by the Muppets, is the second official album spun off from the wildly popular television series, capturing the chaotic, vaudeville-style energy of the show through a mix of comedy sketches, guest-star moments, and songs performed by the core cast. Notable for including rare vocal performances by creator Jim Henson himself as Kermit (on Just One Person), Rowlf (on New York State Of Mind), and others—his only substantial contributions to a commercial Muppets record—it also features Frank Oz prominently as Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam the Eagle. Standout tracks and fan favorites include the tender Just One Person, the hilarious Sea Chanty with Robin the Frog, Rowlf’s heartfelt New York State Of Mind, Floyd’s funky For What It’s Worth, and the duet A Gypsy’s Violin between Rowlf and a visiting Muppet violinist. Historically significant as one of the last major projects to showcase the original core Muppets performers together before the franchise’s explosive growth into film, the album perfectly preserves the anything-goes humor and heart of the late-1970s era of The Muppet Show. The record was a strong commercial success, reaching No. 67 on the UK Albums Chart.
