A beautifully sculpted shape; two circular legs seamlessly joined at the thick molded base so as to be made from one single piece of wood. This was made by steam bending the layers of wood and then glueing and clamping them into a form to maintain the shape. Finished with black paint and sprayed lacquer. The top is a Live Edge Cherry Slab finished with sprayed lacquer. A very stunning piece that fits with any decor. I am David Albert, a woodworker originally from Maine who now resides in upstate New York. I have worked in high end residential construction for over 30 years and am now following my additional passion to design and create custom furniture and other unique and often one of a kind pieces. I enjoy all aspects of the process from concept creation and sketches to the construction and finishing of each piece. My goal is to work with clients to create heirloom pieces that are artistic and functional. Some pieces require straight grain for strong and stable joints while other pieces, like live edge slabs and highly figured wood, allow you to be more imaginative, organic and free formed. My philosophy is to allow the wood to help dictate the shape and final design. There is amazing beauty in wood. I find fun in bringing it to light and finding ways to make the best use of this natural resource.
