Since the mid-1950s, Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan has been turning extra wood pieces into adorable little bears. Kuma Bokko (wood scrap bear) are carved in a contour-line effect, accentuating the skilled hand carving and burning that makes these figures so recognizable and collectible. Because of the rings in the wood and handmade nature of these little bears, no two are alike.
The large bear has its original sticker on the bottom, which says “Made in Japan, Hand Work, S. Takahashi”.
Measurements: 1 Large: 4 ¼” tall 2 Medium: 3” tall 2 Small: 2 ½” tall
Condition: Very good. Each bear has its own personality and quirks.
