"Ignixius" Floating brushstrokes sculpted by the living Eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus sheds these pieces naturally, like a scarf blown off in the wind. The form reflects their function, having protected the tree for months or years in uniquely sculptural, overlapping layers. I was very fortunate when I discovered my first example, startled and enraptured by its beauty. They are extremely elusive, buried amongst their less aesthetic siblings. I have to hunt for them now, obsessed with finding the next magical piece.
