“Hono Hono” orchid - Dendrobium anosmum (purple flower)

Blooms are extremely fragrant and are widely cultivated across the Hawaiian islands for their intoxicating scent.

This is a soft-cane Dendrobium. Canes will begin to hang as they grow in length and weight. The growing season is from late spring until Thanksgiving. Plants should be fed and watered heavily during this time. Once Thanksgiving passes, stop feeding and watering. Only water slightly if canes begin to shrivel. During this winter rest period, the leaves will fall off the cane as this is a deciduous orchid.

After the winter rest, you should see flower buds begin to emerge along the cane. You should now resume watering to prevent bud blast. Blooms should appear in spring provided that you cut off water and fertilizer during the rest period. If the plant received too much water or fertilizer you may get fewer blooms and/or keikis along the cane nodes.

Please note any cosmetic defects in the photos of the plants before claiming/bidding. Please note that plants are grown outdoors in Hawaii and sometimes experience bumps and bruises from the sun, wind, geckos🦎wild boar 🐗 etc.

Will be shipping USPS priority from Hawaii 96789. Shipping fee of $15 plus $2 per each additional plant purchased. Shipping date will be agreed upon by seller and buyer.

We will take care to pack the plants well, but cannot be held responsible for damages from shipping or sitting out too long. Please consider your availability to retrieve your package once it is delivered. If there are problems with the plant, you must provide an unboxing video within one hour of package delivery. Plant must be in original medium and pot.
