Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened). Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Matte textured cover looks great; a couple creases near edges; no scuffing (front/back); slight discoloration on back. Inner-sleeve is original (lyrics); bottom seam partially split. Spine is easy-to-read with very mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; wear to corners. Split near right of bottom-edge. Shrink is split near right on bottom-edge. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and a few divots. Stereo pressing. (Not a cut-out.)
You Made Me Love You is made up exclusively of impressive performances by Harry James, one of the great trumpeters of all time. James is in top form on this album, blowing his horn with tremendous power and breath-taking purity. The title track goes back to 1913 and has since become identified with the Harry James Band. James always plays the number with a special rhythmic intensity. Sleepy Time Gal, written in 1925, and Sleepy Lagoon, 15 years later, are anything but sleep-inducing in these swinging trumpet workouts. Fasten your seatbelts as James drives along like a 400 horsepower tiger-cat in the James Session and Music Makers. And when James gets around to Bangtail, it's really blast-off time!!
