Details
Vinyl plays with crackles and some clicks (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing, tiny surface abrasions, and surface impressions (front/back); discoloration spots on back. Inner-sleeve is original (lyrics/credits); two seams split, one seam partially split. Spine is mostly easy-to-read with noticeable wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
The Latin group Giants, an American Latin-funk supergroup, formed in 1971 for an all-star jam session, bringing together notable musicians like Greg Errico, Carlos Santana, Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, Jose “Chepito” Areas, Herbie Hancock, and others. Their recordings from this session, combined with later material, were released on their self-titled album, Giants, by LAX Records in 1978. This collaboration was historically significant as it blended Latin rhythms with funk and rock, showcasing the talents of prominent artists from diverse musical backgrounds during a period of rich genre fusion in the 1970s. Despite the impressive lineup, the group did not produce any widely recognized hit singles that charted significantly or achieved mainstream success. The album remains a notable artifact of Latin-funk experimentation, reflecting the era's creative musical cross-pollination.
