Description: This small blue elephant figurine is attributed to Morton Pottery. Due to the back legs being fused together. Morton Pottery was made in Morton, Illinois beginning in 1878 until the company closed in 1978. Over the life of the pottery studio the company changed hands and names many times. This elephant planter was a popular style in the 1950's so therefore it could be attributed to the Morton Pottery Company (1922-1978). Several other pottery companies of the time period also created elephant planters, therefore it can be hard to identify these pieces. The lack of a USA stamp on the base, the fused back legs and the style of the eyes and trunk lean to Morton Pottery Company.
