Vinyl plays with crackles and a few light-clicks (play-graded). Mono cover with factory applied stereo sticker has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing (front/back); discoloration spots on front; faint discoloration on back. Inner-sleeve is original (generic white) with partial splits along seams. Spine is unbroken and shows wear. Minor shelf-wear along top-edge, heavier wear along bottom-edge and corners. Split near center and right corner of bottom-edge. Opening is mostly crisp with signs of light use and divots, slightly more wear near the center. Stereo pressing with yellow label. (Not a cut-out.)
Mary Virginia Martin was an American actress and singer. A muse of Rodgers and Hammerstein, she originated many leading roles over her career including Nellie Forbush in South Pacific (1949), Peter Pan in Peter Pan and Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1959). She was named a Kennedy Center Honoree in 1989. She was the mother of actor Larry Hagman. Martin opened on Broadway in The Sound of Music as Maria on November 16, 1959, and stayed in the show until October 1961. She won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. The musical gave Martin "the chance to display her homespun charm".
