Spotlight On Gloria Lynne, by Della Reese, released in 1962 by Design Records, is a compilation featuring vocal jazz and blues performances by Della Reese and Gloria Lynne, accompanied by the George Brown Orchestra. It showcases their distinct vocal styles, with tracks like Gloria Lynne’s I'm Sorry and My Funny Valentine, and Della Reese’s Yes Indeed and Blue And Orange Birds And Silver Bells, blending jazz, blues, and pop influences. Historically, the album captures the early 1960s vocal jazz scene, highlighting two prominent African American artists during a period of significant cultural and musical transition. While the album itself did not produce chart-topping singles, Della Reese’s earlier hit And That Reminds Me (1957) and Don’t You Know? (1959) underscore her commercial success, though they are not featured on this compilation. No specific hit singles from this album are noted in available sources.
