$42.00

Details

Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone ("Living Doll," 1963): While the doll in this episode was actually a "Brikette" doll, it was directly modeled after the Chatty Cathy doll. The voice for both "Talky Tina" and the original Chatty Cathy commercials was provided by actress June Foray. Matt Groening’s (developed alongside James L. Brooks and Sam Simon) The Simpsons: In the Treehouse of Horror segment "Clown Without Pity," the murderous Krusty the Clown doll is a parody of "Talky Tina" from The Twilight Zone, which in turn is based on the Chatty Cathy doll. And, the John Hugh’s movie staring John Candy and Steve Martin “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” (1987) uses a Chatty Cathy doll as a joke. This Chatty Cathy paper doll is a collaboration of Whitman publishing Company and Mattel 1961 - 1963. The original owner is downsizing and asked us to assist in selling off her belongings, this Tote Bag Carry-all Chatty Cathy Cut-Outs can give your “creepy” decor the next level of ephemera memorabilia display or to add an authentic touch to a 1960s Era PROP in theaters or other genre productions.

Please look at all the photos prior to deciding to make a purchase. This is a gently used / pre-owned item. And, VINTAGE (20 years +) is seldom perfect - these being over 60 years old ~ the cardboard Chatty Cathy did have an original repair done by the owner in the 1960s as seen. All the paper outfits may have tears and may be missing components. Buyer is strongly encouraged to review the photos and decide for themselves its condition as my interpretation may not align with yours. Prior to a purchase, questions not answered in photos, details, description are welcome.
