About The Record:

Cadet Glee Club West Point, by Cadet Glee Club West Point, showcases the vocal talents of the United States Military Academy’s choir through a collection of patriotic and traditional songs. Recorded under the direction of the Academy’s bandmaster, it features a repertoire that includes military anthems and classic American tunes, reflecting the Glee Club’s role as musical ambassadors for West Point since its founding in 1903. The album captures the spirit of mid-20th-century American patriotism, with tracks like The Ballad of Rodger Young, which honors a World War II hero and was notably performed by the Glee Club in 1959, preserved in a public domain recording. No specific hit singles are documented from this album, as it primarily served to highlight the Glee Club’s ceremonial and traditional performances rather than commercial chart success. Its historical significance lies in its representation of West Point’s cultural contributions and the Glee Club’s enduring legacy, which has included performances for presidents, international dignitaries, and national events
