^ i^Bonnie Raitt by Bonnie Raitt is a dazzling debut that showcases the then-22-year-old singer-guitarist's soulful vocals, slide guitar prowess, and eclectic taste blending blues, folk, and rock influences. Recorded in a relaxed live-session style at an empty summer camp on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota with local West Bank musicians, it features standout covers such as Stephen Stills's Bluebird, Sippie Wallace's Mighty Tight Woman and feminist classic Women Be Wise, Robert Johnson's Walking Blues, plus originals like the popular Thank You which remains the album's most streamed track today, along with fan-favorites such as Finest Lovin' Man and Since I Fell for You. Historically significant as Raitt's introduction to the world after being signed by Warner Bros. following buzz from her Cambridge folk-blues scene days, the album earned warm critical acclaim for its confident performances and genre-blending blueprint that hinted at the roots-Americana sound to come, though sales stayed modest. No hit singles or album chart positions are noted here as none occurred.
