Antique Metal Collapsible Nickel Plated Travel Hangers Set of 4 Presentation Box Very Rare

This very rare unique item is from a vast Toronto area collector of interesting grooming and travel curiosities. These travel hangers would have fit snugly in a travel trunk, usually equipped with hang bar and drawers, for longer voyages by land or sea in the days before air travel, or for more well to do travellers. When not in use, the hangers collapse neatly and store in the accompanying red box. In storage they measure 10.75” but expand to 16” wide. Two hangers have hooks, 2 do not have hooks and loop over the hooked hangers for double hung capability (shirt and jacket, 2 dresses, etc.). The box measures 11” by 2.5” high by 1.5” deep.
