This brush dates back to the 1910s to 1920s
Socony is Standard Oil Company Of New York, part of the empire founded by Rockefeller. Socony in later years would become Mobil.
Polarine was the name given to a engine lubricating oil because would stay fluid in cold weather. ( won't go into a long dissertation on why this is important, but I spent 45 years in the oil business, 20 with a Mobil Distributor)
The back is made of wood with faded but still readable graphics. There are some scuff marks on the back as well, and the sides.
Similar to clothes brush, but may also have been a car seat brush.
7 inches long 2 wide 1 1/4 high
An excellent piece for the advetising and car collector!
Thank you for looking.
