Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened). Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges (front/back); small split in shrink near top-right, small part of missing shrink along opening, missing sections of shrink near opening on back, tear in shrink near top-right of back. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear (slightly crooked). little shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)

Breakin' Away, by Al Jarreau, became the standard bearer of the L.A. pop and R&B sound. Most of Breakin' Away has Jarreau in great spirits and giving one great performance after another, like the powerful and melody-rich title song. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. Breakin' Away remains Al Jarreau's most popular album. It spent two years on the Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 9. The album also hit No. 1 on both the Jazz and R&B charts. Three single releases made the charts: We're in This Love Together (No. 15 pop, No. 6 AC, No. 6 R&B), Breakin' Away (No. 43 pop, No. 30 AC, No. 25 R&B), and Teach Me Tonight (No. 70 pop, No. 19 AC, No. 51 R&B). At the Grammy Awards in 1982 the album was given the prize for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male, the album was also nominated for Album of the Year.
