Details
Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles; clicks near beginning of the first song (play-graded). Reflective cover looks good; light scuffing, a few surface impressions and tiny surface abrasions (front/back); clear tape affixed along top edge. Inner-sleeve is original (Decca ads). Spine is somewhat readable with wear and developing split near top. Minor shelf-wear along bottom-edge, heavier wear along top edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
From the Airport soundtrack, the instrumental, Airport Love Theme by Vincent Bell peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and NO. 2 for three weeks on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The film was the final project for composer Alfred Newman. His health was failing and he was unable to conduct the sessions for his music's recording. The job was handled by Stanley Wilson. Newman did conduct the music heard in the film. He died before the film's release. Newman received his 45th Academy Award nomination posthumously for this film, the most received by a composer at that time.
