This relaxed, conversational-style book was written so you can benefit from our experience making hard choices, selling everything, leaving family behind, building a cabin in Kentucky, and starting to live off the land in a secluded forest, with no running water. In the following years, our sons moved to our area, as well. The grandchildren now benefit from the choices we have made and are currently making. The adventure continues.

The idea of learning practical life skills as adults, and teaching the family members to grow food, do chores, care for animals, repair equipment, build, and hunt is vital. These basics have not been taught for generations and now need to be learned, as well as practiced. We don’t know what the future brings, but we want to be prepared to not only survive but thrive!

Being in nature, free from distraction, we are closer to God, have less stress, build what we need, and have good food from the garden.

We chose this path we are following, and it was with God’s blessing that we have such a wonderful story to share.
