1960s Prom Dress Full Length Flamingo Pink Taffeta Chiffon Embroidery Overlay

Here’s a beauty from the 1960s in a classic flamingo pink color!

• Dress features a taffeta type body, with chiffon overlay on skirt and embroidered overlay on top.
• Empire waistline, chiffon drape, metal zipper
• Chiffon drape is attached to the back with snaps under chiffon roses. Roses have flattened a bit over the years but are still so pretty
• I see a few minor flaws, please see condition notes and photos – none of them affect the overall appearance of this dress, nor would they affect its usefullness
• No makers tags or size tags present, but union label is present

PLEASE NOTE:

CONDITION:

• Fabrics are nice and bright
• Lace overlay has worn thin with some broken threads in a couple small areas, and has darkened on the surface in a few areas, possibly from storage or could need to be cleaned
• Hems and seams are intact
• Small tear in chiffon on bottom back side
• Metal zipper works well, but is a bit sticky at the empire waist area – appears to be seam fabric gets in the way which can be held back
• Snaps for back drape are present but one is loose and needs a couple additional stitches – an easy fix
• Hook for back is present and may need additional “loop” stitches at some point to connect to – an easy fix
• I see a small stain on front toward bottom, and a small thin area of chiffon overlay on front
• Chiffon roses on back have flattened but are still pretty
• Bottom hem of sleeve has rolled up a bit - not a flaw but could be pressed so taffeta is on inside
• Dress wrinkles easily and will need a steam pressing before wearing
• Please expect used vintage condition with age-appropriate wear

• Bust – arm pit to arm pit: 16 ½” to 17” (33” to 34” overall)
• “Waist” – technically not a waist line – this is where top meets skirt under bust: 15” (30” overall)
• Shoulders - width across top of shoulders – from top sleeve seam to top sleeve seam: 13 ½”
• Sleeve length outside – from seam: 10 ½”
• Sleeve length inside – from armpit: 6 ½”
• Sleeve width at bottom: 7 ½” (15” overall)
• Length of top - middle of shoulder seam to seam connecting top to skirt: 10 ½”
• Length of skirt - middle of shoulder seam to bottom of dress: 41”
• Length of dress overall - mid shoulder seam to bottom: 51 ½”
• Width of skirt bottom: 28” (56” overall)
• Drape length – from connecting point: 44”
• Drape width – at bottom of drape: 40”
