This is pretty little gem from the 1940s, when soldiers going off to war would give them to their “sweethearts” with their picture or a lock of hair inside. This is hallmarked “PATENTED” on the inside. This is a well loved gem. I believe the calligraphy initials are E.G. You can see from the picture that there are many blemishes, scratches, gold plating scratched, missing, etc. There are a couple of places where the links are in need of repair. However, they do line up, and there are no missing links. It appears to need a couple of pins to reattach them. With some TLC, this lovely bracelet can be a “new” piece for someone special! From my research, I believe that the face is most likely gold filled, and the rest gold plated. I am not 100% certain, so please take that in consideration. This design does match one of the designs of Carmen by DFB, Co, but it does not have that hallmark. It may be a 1940s contemporary reproduction of that line, as it was popular.
